Is it only in Sri Lanka’s case or does it happen elsewhere too that soldiers are treated as dirt by the supposed guardians of peace while internationally proscribed terrorists are white-washed at every stage? Ever since the military victory over LTTE following 30 years of failed attempts to bring peace, morning to night the GOSL has been virtually hounded by the UN, foreign envoys and the UNHRC calling for accountability when none of them were nowhere to be seen when the LTTE attacked villages, school children, public installations and politicians since 1980s. The chant ‘domestic inquiry’ for a ghost figure of 40,000 plus conveniently ignores the need to first inquire from the LTTE what they did with the 5000 soldiers still missing. Sri Lanka should demand a need to have a domestic inquiry to find out the whereabouts of 5000 missing soldiers first before commencing inquiries for ghost estimates without even a name!

Ever since May 2009 it has been a chorus of a new terminology referred to as ‘credible allegations’ without proof of what is credible about the allegations.

While factual data has been produced a panel personally appointed by the UN Secretary General which has no legal basis to be used as the foundation for UNHRC Resolutions or OHCHR’s reports claims that the figures given by the GOSL are too ‘small to accept’. Isn’t that fascinating! An international panel won’t accept a figure simple because they find it impossible to imagine that the figure is so little!

Taking that as a cue starting from the former UN spokesmen a whole line up of people ganged up to claim from overseas confines that 40,000 died as if they had been personally watching the soldiers kill each. The fantasy and sensationalism transferred to films and documentaries all of which took people away from the simple question of asking – who saw these 40,000 being killed, how on earth did the soldiers manage to dig trenches and bury them while shooting was taking place and if so where the hell are the skeletons of the dead, where are the families of these dead, why has no one come forward to even name the dead. Thus these credible allegations have extended from 40,000 to 100,000 and some have even gone to quote 225,000 … give them a few more years they might quote figures more than the Tamil population in the North!

Fitted to this is another bizarre claim of genocide. Now the only way genocide can be used is if we introduce a new terminology as ‘seasonal genocide’ for didn’t it occur to those making the ‘credible allegations’ that the armed forces took over 4 months to end the military operation and laid down the lives of over 2000 soldiers to save close to 300,000 Tamils (among whom were LTTE cadres and we really don’t know how many were real civilians and how many were actual cadres) In addition there were 12,000 LTTE cadres who surrendered and they all surrendered in civilian attire. Now if genocide was the order of the day why ever did the Armed Forces waste artillery, waste time rescuing Tamils through land and lagoon, carry them to safety, set up reception centres with Tamil speaking armed forces personnel, keep food and medicines to offer the hunger-struck and wounded Tamils when all that the army had to do was fire away and flatten the entire area.

So it’s a little tiring now to be thinking that we are such a daft nation and quite tiring that our officials are not demanding that those making ‘credible allegations’ forward ‘credible evidence’ to prove that 40,000 or more were killed. Without 100 names even presented it is a laughable matter that the UNSG/UNHRC and its High Commissioner continue to seek domestic inquiries when they have so far not produced a shred of EVIDENCE except sensationalized ALLEGATIONS…. Allegations do not qualify as Evidence… and this is what Sri Lanka should insist on.
Moreover, Ban Ki Moons panel only declared that it found that ‘as many as 40,000 civilians may have been killed in the final months of the civil war’. There is a major difference in MAY HAVE BEEN and actually been killed!!!

However, Sri Lanka now has the opportunity to turn the tables. We have 5000 missing soldiers whose parents, widowed wives and fatherless children continue to mourn the denial of their right to even see the corpse of their dead war hero!

We take as an example just one single attack. 22 April 2000 when LTTE attacked the Elephant Pass camp and took into custody 600 soldiers from the camp. All 600 were killed and none of their bodies were returned to the forces (as per statement sent to UNHRC by a father of a missing soldier). These 600 families are just a handful of many other families whose children/husband/fathers were captured and killed by the LTTE and whose bodies are still not found and they continue to be listed as soldiers missing in action.

Some of these missing soldiers wives/mothers & fathers have written to the UNHRC investigation team bemoaning the fact that while the LTTE are being rehabilitated and released to lead peaceful lives the families of the missing soldiers are still wondering what happened to their dear sons who went to defend the nation (not divide the nation) and when the State or the UN/UNHRC are showing no care about their whereabouts but going after ghost figures without names.

Some of these families are living in poverty, their wives are shunned by society, some newly married and now widowed without children are still wondering what happened to their missing soldiers.

However totally ignoring their plight, funds and foreign assistance are all pouring in all directed at only one ethnic group totally ignoring that Sinhalese and Muslims were the main targets of LTTE terror. Sinhalese did not attack the Tamils at any given time. If there have been incidents these were all perpetrated by the UNP Governments and their thugs and not the common masses. The world must apologize to the Sinhalese for unfairly tarnishing them instead of making the UNP answerable for their sins.

Let it also be made clear that LTTE even had a trained civilian force and we are yet to be told whom among the 300,000 saved by the military had combat training and actually engaged in hostilities while in civilian clothing. This is important for while considering them victims what cannot be forgotten is that they too shoulder accountability for soldier deaths. What an anti-climax for soldiers to be engaged in a military offensive while carrying out a humanitarian operation that rescued LTTE cadres as well and Ban Ki Moon asks us not to engage in triumphalism!

Returning to the key point. Preference has to be given to the men who defended the nation and not those who attempted to divide the nation. Anyone claiming 40,000 died must first produce the evidence that 40,000 actually died and then ask the GOSL to investigate to see how they died. As far as we are concerned 5000 soldiers are missing. Their names have all been lodge with the Presidential Commission on Missing Persons by their families/wives. So unlike the ghost 40,000 figures these 5000 have real names, addresses and details the only thing missing are their bodies and LTTE has to account for that because most of these soldiers were either captured and taken to custody never to return.

Therefore, if any investigation/inquiry should commence at all it must first start by finding out what happened to the 5000 missing soldiers and holding LTTE accountable for their deaths. Now is the UN & foreign agencies willing to fund this? We doubt because such an inquiry does not gel with their ulterior plan which is nothing about 40,000 or even 200,000 dead but to somehow get a foothold in Sri Lanka by establishing an office on the pretext of providing technical assistance and thereafter plotting to do what the Western imperialists have planned for Sri Lanka and greater Asia.

Without meekly accepting the allegations it is time Sri Lanka’s officials went on the offensive demanding OHCHR or any others to produce the evidence before agreeing to open any inquiry but if at all an inquiry is to be held it should be first to find the whereabouts of the missing 5000 soldiers first.

One of the most remarkable achievements of the UN system is the amount of time and money they spend in compiling reports / statistics /charts / creating terminologies and preparing plans and processes of coordinating and monitoring them. It is baffling how far entities within the UN system know who is doing what and what the ultimate goal or objective is and more importantly for whose benefit these objectives are being drawn. Navi Pillay before winding up her tenure played a role alongside the UNSG in creating many precedents directed only upon Third World targeted nations. Sri Lanka being one. Sri Lanka became a victim of a well-coordinated pressure campaign combining Western Governments-UN system-INGO nexus-media and local lackeys.

The Public of Sri Lanka has however refused to fall for the accusations/allegations without evidence been thrown at Sri Lanka and so the best way out has been for the UN system to come up with cunning terminologies that would enable them to infiltrate into internal systems and take control over governance eventually to become the dictators of decision-making in Sri Lanka. Without a doubt the UN/OHCHR are trying every means possible to enter Sri Lanka.
Navi Pillays 2014 offer was innocent enough “advice on the establishment of a follow-up truth-seeking mechanism that would examine the different accounts of past events and the history of the conflict, including its root causes" in order to "provide an inclusive narrative of why it happened, contribute to thecreation of a historical record and bring clarity to the question of casualty figures".
Quite a lot of gibberish which really makes no sense but affords the UN to break up into chunks of what benefits them.
To warrant OHCHR interference / involvement or any role whatsoever and for Sri Lanka even to consider why we should accept advice and suggestions by the UN/OHCHR it is important to see exactly how far these terminologies used on other nations have succeeded to get anywhere near the objectives that the UN claims to achieve by implementing what they suggest.
TRUTH Commissions have been launched in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Fiji, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Nepal, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Philippines, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, East Timor, Uganda, Ukraine, Tunisia,
Would Truth Commissions cover & would UN take action against the countries that are the root cause of the problem?
  • CIA dirty wars in Argentina?
  • Brazil - CIA-backed military coup overthrows the democratically elected government of Joao Goulart. The junta that replaces it will, in the next two decades, become one of the most bloodthirsty in history. General Castelo Branco will create Latin America’s first death squads, or bands of secret police who hunt down “communists” for torture, interrogation and murder. Often these “communists” are no more than Branco’s political opponents. Later it is revealed that the CIA trains the death squads.
  • Ecuador - A CIA-backed military coup overthrows President Arosemana, whose independent (not socialist) policies have become unacceptable to Washington. A military junta assumes command, cancels the 1964 elections, and begins abusing human rights.
  • CIA support for the death squads in El Salvador
  • secret CIA program in Colombia that has helped kill at least two dozen rebel leaders
  • CIA overthrows the democratically elected Jacob Arbenz in a military coup. Arbenz has threatened to nationalize the Rockefeller-owned United Fruit Company, in which CIA Director Allen Dulles also owns stock. Arbenz is replaced with a series of right-wing dictators whose bloodthirsty policies will kill over 100,000 Guatemalans in the next 40 years.
  • Haiti - The U.S. military helps “Papa Doc” Duvalier become dictator of Haiti. He creates his own private police force, the “Tonton Macoutes,” who terrorize the population with machetes. Over 100,000 die during the Duvalier family reign.  In 1990 competing against 10 comparatively wealthy candidates, leftist priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide captures 68 percent of the vote. After only eight months in power, however, the CIA-backed military deposes him. More military dictators brutalize the country, as thousands of Haitian refugees escape the turmoil in barely seaworthy boats. As popular opinion calls for Aristide’s return, the CIA begins a disinformation campaign painting the courageous priest as mentally unstable.
  • Panama — The U.S. invades Panama to overthrow a dictator of its own making, General Manuel Noriega. Noriega has been on the CIA’s payroll since 1966, and has been transporting drugs with the CIA’s knowledge since 1972. By the late 80s, Noriega’s growing independence and intransigence have angered Washington…so he has to be removed!

Somehow all the world’s conflicts lead to powerful nations that manufacture arms and find some means to create a conflict so they can end up selling arms to both sides and then prolonging the end by sending UN/NGOs to confuse matters further so that geopolitical and other cultural advantage and agendas and be fulfilled. All the conflicts around the world suffer from these basic maladies which are compounded because there are sets of local traitors who join the bandwagon because the corrupt international system enables them to use these channels to advance their careers, hobnob with foreign counterparts, travel the globe as human rights crusaders with their bag of lies and crocodile tears and finger pointing to preach at the gullible!

As regards LTTE leaving aside the claims by Tamil politicians if the UN is not going to and India is unwilling to accept its role as the initial creator of Tamil militancy, there is little point in wasting money, time and effort in any Truth Commission.

India’s role in clandestinely training Sri Lankan Tamil unemployed youth and taking them to be secretly trained in India and sent back under tutelage of the Indian intelligence is a FACT/TRUTH known by all Sri Lankans and confirmed in the Jain Commission report following the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.

These trainings took place in 1970s and was followed by Indian trained militants sent by to Sri Lanka carrying out assassinations firstly upon Tamils (LTTE’s first victim was a Tamil Mayor – Alfred Duraiappah in July 27, 1975 followed by shooting of Tamil policemen before the guns were pointed at the Sri Lankan Army)

India’s role is mentioned by Indians and is now just a common knowledge with the unlikelihood of India apologizing for India’s responsibility/accountability for militancy in Sri Lanka that unleashed 30 years of terror, bloodshed and destruction. We do not need a truth commission to tell us what we all already know. No truth commission will be able to ever get India to apologize either. So what is the point in setting up a plush office, selecting a handful of people giving them massive salaries, bringing down people as witnesses (most of them would be dead by now or not able to remember) and spend years and years tabulating what we already know.

Morever, we are all well aware that the LTTE was adopted by the West and became its contracted terror friend and that shift would have come with the murder of Rajiv Gandhi. The West’s wings in the form of NGOs / the Church / INGOs & even the UN have in many ways provided covert support for the LTTE otherwise with over 3000 NGOs operating in the North why would none of them even write against the LTTE’s recruitment of children as child soldiers and take action against LTTE? Many of LTTE’s crimes upon Tamils have gone unnoticed because the Tamils that suffered and from whom LTTE plucked the children were from low caste poor Tamil homes and neither LTTE nor the Tamil politicians cared a fig about them.

Therefore, the fancy notions that the OHCHR is trying to promote are just a waste of time and are merely to camouflage initiatives that cannot be openly told and the best carrot that can advance setting up of these technical help desks and offices is to give the impression that the local decision makers will also make something out of the deals.

Now these deals are likely to land Sri Lanka in a lot of trouble whatever party decides to accept the carrots and leaving aside the politics it is good for the politicians to open their eyes to the dangers they are blindly walking into.

It would be better instead of a domestic inquiry if the OHCHR/UN can investigate

  • West’s role in world terror
  • UN role in functioning as a puppet of the West
  • INGO role in advancing agendas of the West
  • Media role in fabricating lies for the West
  • India’s role in foolishly destabalizing all Asian neighbors
  • How all above fills objective of neo-colonial imperial expansion
  • Admit to the world the terror groups the above have funded / the covert-overt initiatives their Govts have sponsored / the terror-fronts that are involved in global illegal activities masquerading as human rights/charities

exclusively that the new Sri Lankan government was expediting plans to legalize gay and lesbian marriages within the first 100 days. 100-Day Government Hurrying to Legalize Gay Marriage

Yesterday, at the UNP headquarters Sirikotha,  the Sirisena-Wickremasinghe government took another forward step towards this plan.

A meeting was held between UNP members at representatives of gay and lesbian groups at the Party Headquarters to expedite legalizing same sex marriage.  It was proposed to open a separate ministry to handle the rights of gays and lesbians.  Legislation towards this end will be shortly introduced and budget appropriations set aside UNP members assured.

Representatives of the gay community praised the Sirisena-Wickremasinghe government for the great progress made since they took power to promote same sex marriage and advance the rights of the gay people.  They gave special thanks to Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera for his enormous contribution to the gay cause.

Samaraweera recently voted in favor of a measure introduced by the UN Secretary-General to offer  marital benefits to  gays and lesbians.

Sri Lanka was the only South Asian country that voted in favor of the UN measure.

Everything generally gets swept under the carpet due to legal technicalities but for us ordinary laymen it sounds rather bizarre to hear of a joint press statement issued by a UN Security Council banned LTTE front and a Member of Parliament even if entered through the backdoor on the national list! If discussions and joint statements are to be issued, what is the point in declaring organizations as banned and not just an ordinary ban but as a terrorist front too & that too incorporating the UN Security Council Resolution 1373? Interesting aspect of the statement is that it has included the presence of the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister as well.

The statement is well guarded, naturally to avoid legal hiccups. Nevertheless, while politicians may play footsie with people’s lives and take issues lightly, the people have questions to ask
  • What type of confidence building measures has been discussed? We want to see the minutes of these meetings to understand exactly what was discussed!
  • What type of constructive engagement is being referred to? We want to know the specifics. Diaspora implies not only Tamil Diaspora, lest people have forgotten there are more Sinhalese Diaspora than Tamils.
  • Needs of displaced people – this is interesting, has anyone raised objection to why Sinhalese and Muslims are made to feel they are unwelcome in the North especially those who had been living for donkeys years in the North and who were chased out by the LTTE giving them just 24 hours’ notice to vacate? Does the minutes of these meetings cover the relocation of Sinhalese and Muslims to return to their original habitats in the North and for welfare measures to be allocated to them as well?
  • Why are Diaspora groups (those declared LTTE fronts) so keen on releasing hard core LTTE cadres now conveniently being rechristened as political prisoners? We know that the bulk of those that surrendered underwent rehabilitation and are now reintegrated into society but there were several hundreds who refused to be rehabilitated. Why should these terrorists be released into society instead of being charged formally for their crimes?
  • On what logic of reconciliation is the argument of lifting the ban on LTTE & Diaspora Organizations/Individuals? If the UN is conducting an investigation demanding accountability from Sri Lanka, the organizations & individuals declared LTTE fronts must all be held accountable for their crimes over 3 decades. Who wants reconciliation by allowing these groups to get off the hook instead of being put on trial for aiding and abetting terror?
  • Discussed at the table is also a sleazy notion of allowing funds from well wishers – this again rings alarm bells and reminds us of the ISGA and PTOMS when attempts were made to enable LTTE to directly solicit funds from foreign donors instead of going through the Government. All funding must be accounted for and must go through the Central Government and not any provincial government.
  • The Norwegian Council of Eelam Tamils was represented by Dr. P Kandiah which is a constituent member of banned Nediyavan’s the International Council of Eelam Tamils (ICET) (www.iceelamtamils.info). The goal of the NCET is made clear by Dr. Kandiah himself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmBA7JiR22M “One of our three primary objectives as mandated by the Diaspora Eelam Tamils in Norway is enshrined in our constitution as follows:

“I quote the Section 2.c of our Constitution, which spells out it clearly:
  • “Working for independence, sovereignty and development of Eelam Tamils in their homeland:

The Council shall voice for the formation of the independent and sovereign state of Tamil Eelam in the contiguous north and east of the island of Sri Lanka (North-East) on the basis that the Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka constitute a distinct nation, have a traditional homeland, have the right to self-determination and aspire for the formation of independent and sovereign state of Tamil Eelam in their homeland as mandated by the people of the North-East in the General Election of 1977 in the island, and reaffirmed by 98.95 per cent of Eelam Tamils in Norway in the referendum held on 10 May, 2009, which is referred to as The Norwegian Tamil Mandate 2009 (NTM-2009).

The Council shall work for the recognition and acceptance of Tamil Eelam by the International Community and is determined to guard against any efforts from any quarter prevailing upon Eelam Tamils to surrender their sovereignty.”
  • Also at the discussions was one Martin Sturzinger formerly of the Swiss embassy and paid to be the Advisor on Peace Building at the Embassy – obviously that job was a failure as no one has offered peace to the real victims of LTTE terror. Martin came to Sri Lanka firstly as a tourist in 1983! He came again in 1990 as a fully-fledged journalist! In 2000 he was working for Swiss Refugee Council. In 2003 he was working for the Swiss Embassy as Peace Advisor – its amazing how NGOs see only one side of the story and there is no one to write about the people LTTE killed over 3 decades!
  • Ebrahim Ebrahim of a South African NGO In Transformation Initiative was also present. He happened to be in the same group that met in Singapore to discuss the infamous ‘Singapore Principles’. Tamilnet reported thus: “Mr M.A. Sumanthiran, the non-elected national list ITAK parliamentarian and Mr V.T. Thamilmaran, the dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo (name recently linked to the rape in Kayts in trying to help one of the rapists flee) were the Tamil representatives from the island while representatives of the so-called Global Tamil Forum (GTF) were representing the Diaspora Tamils at a meeting in Singapore in 2013 when Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne came with his proposal points to agree upon a conceptual framework aimed at regime change, the removal of Executive Presidency and other arrangements targeting good governance. Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne was an adviser to Sri Lanka’s past two Presidents.

“Mangala Samaraweera came as a ‘beggar’ urging Tamil support for regime change and abolition of the executive presidency. It was 2013,” said one of the participants, reflecting on the Singapore meeting.https://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=79&artid=37606 – it shows that since 2013 the ITI and the LTTE linked diaspora groups are on a mission with vested foreign interests.

  • Where are all these talks heading? The same mischief makers and people that were fanning the conflict over the years have now returned under a different slogan to play fiddle with lives of people. From what we now understand the people of the Vanni have been convenient tools to advance the livelihoods and careers of a lot of people over the years. The plight of these low caste/class Tamils most of whom are not able to read or write and have been simply baby providers to the LTTE to abduct and transform into child soldiers/cadres are likely to be again used if decision makers do not take immediate stock of the situation. On the pretext of fund raising to help innocent Tamils, the money has never reached them ever. The submissions of Tamils in the Vanni to the UNHRC are revelations of these home truths.

  • A government incorporates international laws like the UN Security Council Resolution to ban LTTE fronts & declare names of individuals not as a joke and it is after much investigation and evidence with proven facts that the 16 LTTE fronts and close to 500 individuals were named in April 2014. Global Tamil Forum with whom the Minister of Foreign Affairs and LTTE created TNA national list member met for discussions, is banned under the UNSC Resolution 1373. It is hilarious to use ‘reconciliation’ as a battering ram to argue for banned diaspora to be lifted. The Tamils do not know who these Diaspora guys are or care about them because they hold foreign passports, none of their children have been donated for the LTTE cause and they live luxury lives pretending to be working tirelessly on behalf of the Tamils – all humbug!

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please refer the attached Press Statement jointly issued by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and Global Tamil Forum (GTF)  regarding the recent meetings held in London.

PRESS STATEMENT
08 June 2015

Confidence Building Measures in Sri Lanka
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Global Tamil Forum (GTF) continued their informal dialogue over the last two days in London with various stakeholders to enhance confidence building measures between all communities within and outside Sri Lanka. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mangala Samaraweera was also present.

The need for constructive engagement by the Sri Lankan Diaspora was discussed, including the needs of displaced people. It was agreed that a further meeting will be called to present the requirements to various High Commissioners and Ambassadors based in Sri Lanka, with the aim to raise funds for housing of over two thousand families in these newly released lands.

The release of prisoners held under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in the light of the review by the Ministry of Justice was also discussed. The TNA and the GTF further raised the issue of listing of Diaspora organisations and individuals by the previous Government.

Ideas of ways in which the Sri Lankan Diaspora could assist by bringing its exceptional capacity and capabilities were explored.

M.A. Sumanthiran                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Suren Surendiran
Member of Parliament                                                 Director of Strategic Initiatives

We seem to be needlessly walking into and inviting trouble – it is time sense prevailed.

LTTE prisoners are not political prisoners – they must be charged and face trial.

LTTE fronts must face the same legal process and face charges for aiding & abetting terror.

Politicians cannot be votes or petty political gain and other remunerations make decisions without consulting the People – it is our lives that is at stake.

Legal avenues need to be taken by civic conscious lawyers to take legal action against the latest attempts to create another mayhem in Sri Lanka.

While the politicians are kept busy fighting for survival in a political chessboard that finds everyone trying to check mate each other, Western imperialism is in full swing pursing with the ‘pivot to Asia’ theme nothing but imperialism aimed at militarily encircling China. No corner of South Asia will be exempt from imperialist intervention which is being made easy by politicians who are facilitating the intervention if not inviting it!

The likely scenario of avoiding public outburst against a direct foreign military intervention is to use the UN as an interim mediator similar to the interim administration taking place in Kosovo following its independence. Given that the Kosovo independence is marked by revelations of lies and chaos post-independence, the planners are devising other ways to cover their tracks. Nevertheless, the UN role in Kosovo remains an absolute failure now 7 years after independence. The architect of Kosovo independence is at present part of the 3 member panel investigating the conflict in Sri Lanka. Our leaders have yet to read the dangers for the country.

UN Secretary General interfering in Sri Lanka’s internal affairs:
  • Calling the Sri Lankan President and asking him to implement the 20th amendment & conduct Parliamentary elections – is it a habit of the UNSG to be calling other sovereign nations and asking them to implement Bills & conduct elections?
  • No country will allow a UN role in the internal affairs of its country – will India allow the UN to facilitate governance in Kashmir to maintain law & order!UNDP conducting seminar & seeking to open a PEACEBUILDING FUND to directly fund development to North & East
  • Is the President aware that the UNDP is working with the Foreign Ministry to establish a UN Peacebuilding Fund initially with $3million which is to include UN giving support to the domestic mechanism on human rights violations & accountability. This is another indirect cunning method to interfere in the domestic affairs of a sovereign state getting local traitors to endorse the interference (The domestic inquiry requested by the UN was the LLRC, there is no requirement to have another investigation until and unless the conclusions of the LLRC is proven false. With every change of government domestic inquiries cannot be held to satisfy other people’s agendas)
  • The UNDP head is referring to the Northern Provincial GOVERNMENT – since when did a provincial council become a GOVERNMENT or has the UNDP head given the cat away as this being the ultimate plan in place!
  • Peacebuilding Fund is the Secretary General’s Fund set up in 2006 and UNDP administers the fund. Sri Lankan Government allocation to the Northern Province
  • The Northern Provincial council has been allocated adequate funds of the Rs 5,831 million allocated by Govt for North, the TNA Provincial Administration had utilised only 25.17% up to Sep 30th 2014  (This allocation of Rs.5.831m is the highest allocation of all the provinces in Sri Lanka)
  • Janes Intelligence revealed that LTTE made USD300million annual profits but did nothing to develop the North or give a cent to look after the people of the North!
  • The GOSL has spent from its national budget Rs.290,271 million for the Northern Province alone from 2009 to September 2014
  • A covert plan is being devised to bypass the central government and directly fund the North and East in a bid to eventually separate the two from Sri Lanka because it serves a larger purpose for the West and has nothing to do with Tamils or their grievance!US pivot to Asia
  • US-friendly new government has stalled China projects in view of its threat to US
  • US says it is helping with asset recovery when majority of white collar criminals are in the US!
  • News of US Homeland Security in Sri Lanka raises further eyebrows of what is being devised using opportunist politicians now in power! Banned LTTE fronts lobbying to have ban removed
  • Secret meetings using bogey of ‘reconciliation’ to seek lifting of UNSC Resolution 1373 ban on 16 LTTE fronts and over 494 individuals
  • Does the Parliament, Cabinet or even the President know of the Foreign Minister holding meetings in London with LTTE fronts on the bogey of reconciliation? Tamil Nationalism hijacked by West
  • Initially LTTE was created by India following Rajiv Gandhis’ assassination LTTE became controlled & under contract of the West via the Church as it served Western interests to use Tamil Nationalism to claim 2/3 of Sri Lanka’s coast install puppet Tamil leaders (or even Muslim) and rule South Asia with long term intentions to encircle China
  • Looks to be that the Tamil politicians and the LTTE fronts are selling out the Tamils having handed Tamil nationalism to the West to use to advance their agendas pretending it is in the interests of TamilsTNA
  • TNA is seeking the release of hard core unrehabilitated LTTE cadres claiming them to be political prisoners
  • Consent reference to ethnic issue when the military operation was to eliminate LTTE terrorists and Sri Lanka’s conflict itself was categorized as a non-international armed conflict by Ban Ki Moon’s three member panel.
  • TNA claiming genocide and passing a genocide resolution despite a case on violation of penal code section 120 in place.
  • Continuous demands for direct financial assistance to the North by passing the central government – this was one of the key components of the Ranil & CBK backed PTOMs and ISGA which thankfully was shot down by patriotic forces via the Supreme Court
  • The outbursts by NPC Chief Minister related to law & order in the North may aligned with intent to pave the way for Blue Helmets (UN troops) to enter Sri Lanka on the guise of sustaining peace post-conflict (this is one of the objectives of the Peace Building Commission under the UNSG)Muslim demands in the East
  • Though ground situation does not showcase demands by people for a separate Muslim only area, like Tamil politicians the Muslim politicians have been easy to be bought over to align with Western interests/agenda.
  • The Oluvil Declaration of 2003 is what continues to be used to lobby for a separate administration for Muslims only – fundamentalism and Saudi-lined Wahhabi mosques brainwashing Muslims are likely to be working hand in glove with Western interests to create the scenario for the next wave of trouble for Sri Lanka.
  • The East is where Trincomalee harbour rests and has been the key treasure that every country is after to possess and they are using all sorts of other reasons to fool politicians to get secure this strategic area.
  • East is also home to natural assets and resourcesHow regime change fell into place orchestrated by UK-US-India nexus (Indian intelligence part time Western employed)
  • For US Sri Lanka is a lynchpin in its attempt to control the seas and trade lanes from Asia to West & West to Asia.
  • Ranil’s one month study tour on regime change , Mangala’s visit to US, US & UK envoys training youth on social media providing equipment, study tours for Sri Lankan lawyers to US, USAID aligning with Sri Lanka Bar Association, media tied up with foreign counter parts, bringing opposition parties under one banner against the Rajapakse government, US-initiated Western backed Resolutions against Sri Lanka, Navi Pillay personally steering war crimes charges against Sri Lanka, human rights organizations, former UN officers turned journalists, Western funded entities tasked to issue regular reports (without disclosure of witness details) covering varied human rights abuses to lay foundation to incriminate leaders opposing the Western plan for Sri Lanka. Return of CBK on Clinton Foundation payroll that resulted in finding another scapegoat to field as Presidential candidate instead of Ranil W on the slogan of CHANGE which brought results on account of Rajapakse’s own mistakes.
  • In Dec 2014 RAW chief was asked to leave Sri Lanka – Central votes going against Rajapakse would have all been attributed to Indian interference.

  • The UN should be questioning why Tamils or Muslims want exclusive mono-ethnic areas when their people live amongst the Sinhalese which can be statistically proven. There are more Tamils & Muslims living among Sinhalese outside of the areas they are claiming as Tamil homeland / Muslim homeland.
  • Does the UN not have brains to ask what is the logic behind wanting an exclusive area only for Tamils and only for Muslims while they keep the right to live amongst Sinhalese & can purchase land and property?
  • Does no one in the UN want to question why Tamils and Muslims who use discrimination as a reason to demand separate mono-ethnic states are happily living amongst the Sinhalese?
  • Who will question why Sinhalese who had been historically living in the North and the East far before the immigrants of Tamils and Muslim traders came to Sri Lanka should now not have rights to these areas while there is a bigger threat that with time the areas that the Sinhalese presently live may be bought over by the minorities with Sinhalese ending up with no land whatsoever! Have even the Sinhalese politicians thought of this scenario?
Do we have politicians able to read these scenarios and comprehend what is at stake for the country or even to imagine what it may ultimately result for them politically?
Do we have organizations, lawyers and others with the power to fight the prevailing conditions coming out to inform the people of the dangers at stake for the future of the country?
They must now come out and warn the people that the sovereignty of Sri Lanka is under threat and the people must unite to save the nation!
It was revealed with witness that Tiger Armed Unit Leader Senthuran (earlier TELLO organizer for Jaffna)  is in an attempt to murder Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is also said that Rajitha Senarathna and Duminda Dissanayake  are  behind the scene.

President Maithreepala Sirisena had promised to make all the arrangements to release 278 terrorists and Rajitha senarathna and Duminda Dissanayakeis said to be advising on behalf.

Meanwhile four Block Tigers who had been released after rehabilitation had been used for this  suicide attack. These people are said to be behind the conspiracy of stoning the Jaffna Supreme Courts and two officers of President Sirisena Defense had been instructing them.Furthermore it is said that as these two officers had refused to assist the murder of Mahinda rajapaksa they had been displaced and suspects as might have been killed by the tigers.

These Black Tigers had been as Defense Officers for Anandi Shashidaran and Vijayakala Maheshwaran drawing a salary of Three hundred Thousand (300000/=) per a month which was arranged by Rajitha Senarathna. සිංහලෙන් කියවන්න

Did you think that as a unitary state, there is only one, single government in Sri Lanka, though there are a number of Provincial Councils to which a measure of power has been devolved by that one single government? Well, not according to the United Nations and the current (unelected) Sri Lankan Government of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe! Did you know that there is a "Northern Provincial Government" in Sri Lanka, and not merely a Northern Provincial Council and its administration/Cabinet? Did you know that the United Nations will be assisting that "Northern Provincial Government"? Have you ever heard of a Southern "Provincial Government", a Wayamba "Provincial Government" or Western "Provincial Government" in Sri Lanka--and if not, why on earth (only) a "Northern Provincial Government"?

When Varadaraja Perumal’s administration placed an advertisement in the newspapers and signed as the North Eastern Provincial Government (NEPC), a furious President President Premadasa and Minister Ranjan Wijeratne exclaimed that "there is only one government in Sri Lanka!" It is the false self-perception as a "Government" that led the NEPC to its threat of a UDI, and President Premadasa to dissolve it. Matters are worse today in that the UN refers to a "Northern Provincial Government" and the Government of Sri Lanka has gone along, not minding in the least!

If the United Nations refers to and assists a Northern Provincial "Government", how long will it be before the latter regards itself as a proto-state and behaves as one, while the former recognizes the latter as one?

The proof of this negative development comes not from a source hostile to this government, these processes or to Sri Lanka but from an official statement by an affable friend of this country, UNDP Resident Representative Subinay Nandy, who says: "…Third, to provide technical support to the Northern Provincial Government to better plan and undertake development programs, generate revenue and reach out to communities, for consultation and feedback. This component is to be implemented by UNDP." (http://www.dailynews.lk/?q*features/sl-government-committed-resettlement#sthash.V7snBTD5.dpuf)

The UN is now engaged in the deep and sensitive internal political processes of this country; processes which are not only deep but have the most wide ranging legal, constitutional, security and strategic implications. It is highly unlikely that President Sirisena is aware of this and it is almost certain that the Cabinet does not know or has not granted its assent. Certainly the parliament has neither been informed and still less has endorsed this dangerous tectonic shift.

If the readers think that I am overdrawing the picture of the new dimensions of UN involvement in Sri Lanka, let me merely quote from the UN Resident Representative’s statement as authoritatively reproduced in the state’s flagship newspaper the Daily News:

"The UN is thus engaging comprehensively with the Government, by providing technical assistance and financial support to advance reconciliation and build sustainable peace. In particular, we are working with our counterparts - coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - and finalizing an initiative for support from the UN Peacebuilding Fund. The Peacebuilding Fund will support Sri Lanka, initially with $3 million, to establish and operationalize processes for building peace through reconciliation and accountability by addressing the critical core grievances of minorities in an inclusive and consultative manner. In particular, with the support of the Fund, the UN is looking at supporting the Government in four areas:

*First, technical support to establish an inclusive and credible domestic mechanism to address human rights violations and accountability and provide redress to victims and conflict affected groups, including families of the missing, in line with international standards. This component will be led by OHCHR.

*Second, to initiate inclusive, broad-based mechanisms for inter-ethnic trust building, reconciliation and social cohesion working with the recently established Office for National Unity and Reconciliation. This component will be implemented by UNDP with technical advice from the Reconciliation and Development Adviser based at the UN Resident Coordinator's Office.

*Third, to provide technical support to the Northern Provincial Government to better plan and undertake development programs, generate revenue and reach out to communities, for consultation and feedback. This component is to be implemented by UNDP.

*And finally, to implement quick impact resettlement initiatives strategically targeting conflict affected and vulnerable internally displaced persons in the North and the East. This early implementation component will be done by UNHCR and UNICEF.

On this final point, support for resettlement of internally displaced persons, the UN will partner with the Ministry of Resettlement providing catalytic support to the return processes in Jaffna and Trincomalee, through a $1.2 million project." (http://www.dailynews.lk/?q*features/sl-government-committed-resettlement#sthash.V7snBTD5.dpuf)

So the United Nations will play a role, through its Peacebuilding Fund, which will initially allocate USD 3 million "to establish and operationalize processes for building peace through reconciliation and accountability by addressing the critical core grievances of minorities…" Thus the UN is being drawn in to the search for a solution to the "critical core grievances" of the minorities on the island as well as the search for accountability and reconciliation.

Furthermore, the so-called ‘domestic inquiry’ into accountability will be according to unspecified ‘international standards’ (decided upon by whom?) and have unspecified technical support from the UN, led by the OHCHR, i.e. the very Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights, which is spearheading the international inquiry into Sri Lanka!

All this has deadly serious implications. If it can help it, no country allows the UN a role in such sensitive domestic processes. For instance India wouldn’t hear of any UN involvement in the Kashmir question.

UN involvement in domestic politico-legal processes takes place in two exceptional sets of circumstances: (i) the country concerned is a failed state or has been defeated in war and is put under de facto UN trusteeship or (ii) there has been a negotiated end to a civil war in which the UN has played a role/a UN role has been agreed upon as part of the peace settlement. Sri Lanka fits neither of these categories.

If the UN gets involved in such domestic processes, especially in an ethno-lingual or ethno-regional context, it usually ends with one side—the minority--using the UN as leverage to move towards independence, or the West using the UN to do so. Kosovo is a case in point.

Our finest Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar famously quipped that the only role for the UN in Sri Lanka was to help in the eradication of Malaria by the spraying of DDT. As his parliamentary speech slicing and dicing Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Ceasefire Agreement (published in the Sunday Times) showed, the cornerstone of Kadirgamar’s foreign policy was a strenuous recommitment to national sovereignty. He was eliminated by an LTTE sniper ten years ago this August. Had he been buried rather than cremated he would have been rolling in his grave at the dangerously intrusive role that his successor and former cabinet colleague Mangala Samaraweera has arranged for the UN to play.

Mr. Samaraweera stands dangerously at the intersection of the external and the ethnic. The headline of the Sunday Observer declares "Mangala to meet GTF Reps in UK" goes onto report that:

"Minister of External Affairs Mangala Samaraweera will meet representatives of the Global Tamil Forum (GTF) for a special meeting in London tomorrow. This is the first formal meeting between a high-profile representative of the Sri Lankan Government and a leading Tamil Diaspora activist organization …The Global Tamil Forum (GTF), established in 2009 by a number of Tamil groups, is the largest Tamil diaspora organisation with members drawn from across five continents. Rev. Dr. S.J. Emmanuel is the current President of the GTF..." (Sunday Observer June 7, 2015)

Even more shockingly the Sunday Times discloses that TNA MP, MA Sumanthiran and Norway’s Erik Solheim were also present!

"Minister Samaraweera was in London this week and held talks with Tamil diaspora groups, including the Global Tamil Forum…TNA Parliamentarian M. Sumanthiran and other Tamil diaspora groups are reported to have participated. Erik Solheim, a former Norwegian Government negotiator in the Sri Lankan peace process, and a representative of the South African Government were also present." (http://www.sundaytimes.lk/150607/news/alleged-war-crimes-domestic-probe-after-talks-with-all-152105.html)

What is Mangala Samaraweera doing, and does the Parliament, the Cabinet and the President know and approve?

The agenda of Mr. Sumanthiran, the TNA’s top negotiator, has been laid bare in an interview given to the Daily Mirror as well as a report in the Thinakkural. It has three points: (A) the immediate release of those he calls political prisoners, (B) the promulgation of a new Constitution to resolve the ethnic issue along the lines his party sees fit and (C) the recognition that genocide of some variety took place against Sri Lanka’s Tamils. Let Mr. Sumanthiran do the talking: "The second issue of course is of the political prisoners...The phrase political prisoner has a particular meaning. Those are the people who are involved in crimes perhaps, but not for their own benefit but to achieve political objectives. It is true that they are held under particular laws. All of these people are held under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. And all of them were accused or suspected of having to have committed offences in achieving political objectives...Nelson Mandela was a political prisoner. If you had asked the white South African rulers, they would have said that there are no political prisoners. He was convicted under a section of that Act. But the world recognises that he was a political prisoner. So there are political prisoners and those are political related detentions. And the President also must use the right phrase and admit that there are political prisoners and release them now."

Here Mr. Sumanthiran is engaging, as his party – and Tamil nationalism in general--usually does, in trickery and dishonesty. In his advocacy of the immediate release of hardcore Tigers, he shamelessly invokes the name of Nelson Mandela, who never consciously targeted or authorized the targeting of a single unarmed, innocent civilian in the liberation struggle—which incidentally was against a minority regime and for democratic majority rule (just the opposite of the LTTE’s struggle). By contrast the Tigers engaged in the savage butchery of unarmed civilians; of innocents.

Mr. Sumanthiran cannot be unaware that Nelson Mandela was convicted by the courts of a regime internationally condemned as illegitimate; an apartheid regime of a white minority state, not a democratic State which represented the majority of its citizens as was and is the case in Sri Lanka.

Sumanthiran’s definition is characteristically deceitful. Even a Nazi fascist war criminal or a butcher of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge perpetrated his savagery, not for "their own benefit" but precisely for collective political purpose! That did not make them mere "political prisoners’ who should be released!

If there is anyone in a Sri Lankan jail, not because of an act of violence but because of his or her political views, then such a person is indubitably a political prisoner and should be released. But if a person has been convicted by a duly constituted court of law, especially in an elected democracy, for lethally violent offenses, then they cannot be regarded as ‘political prisoners’ who should be immediately released!Sri Lankan can, however, expect precisely such persons to be released back into society.

That is not the only thing we can expect. Mr. Sumanthiran discloses that the UNP has promised a new constitution if elected; one that will finally resolve the ethnic issue.

"…But at the same time, there is a huge national issue that we are concerned about and that needs to be addressed. We agreed with this government that it need not be fully addressed until the general elections are over, but thereafter that issue must be given priority…The Prime Minister said it in Parliament, the Foreign Minister and Minister of Justice too had voiced that a new constitution would be enacted and the next Parliament should be converted in to a Constitutional Assembly. And the Foreign Minister specifically said in his speech that in that constitution the ethnic issue also would finally be resolved…" (http://www.dailymirror.lk/74845/there-is-a-window-of-opportunity#sthash.tAH2pyXB.dpuf)

Mr. Sumanthiran disclosed at a ‘Managers meeting’ in Jaffna, a report of which appeared in the Thinakkural of May 18th, that there is already an agreement with the UNP, according to which a new Constitution which is non-unitary in character will be promulgated immediately after the election.

Finally, Mr. Sumanthiran seeks to legitimize and spin the term "genocide" and seeks recognition for its use. He says:

"The genocide issue is a political slogan…The NPC says that from 1947 these things had happened and these all are intended to diminish the Tamil people’s states and Tamil people’s lives in this country either by driving them out of the country, killing a group of people, a periodic violence against the Tamil and so on, and they called it genocide. That may not fit with the international crime of genocide, it isn’t. In fact at the end of the resolution says the international community has not accepted this kind of events as genocide. Now you must recognize that this is also as genocide. So it must be seen in total context of people saying that the Tamil people were suffering for 60 years of protracted violence. And they are saying that is genocide." (http://www.dailymirror.lk/74845/there-is-a-window-of-opportunity#sthash.tAH2pyXB.dpuf)

Sri Lanka under ‘Yahapalanaya’ is a penetrated state. The single most important thing about a parliamentary election is the chance it provides to stop the rape of our sovereignty.
